The Role
We are looking for an experienced Head of Growth to assemble and lead a high-performing growth team, drive awareness and adoption of Essential, and lead our overarching GTM and growth strategy. You will be the owner of the following functions:
- Marketing & communications
- BD & partnerships
- Events & sponsorships
- Community & developer relations

After recently closing our Series A fundraising round and releasing our devnet and DSL, we are ready to rapidly scale our growth & adoption efforts. Our growth team currently consists of 1 marketing manager; you will be responsible for building out the rest of the team (4-6 people over the next 6 months) and leading them effectively.
If you have experience at small startups, you know what this means: you will have a lot of responsibility for both strategy and execution across a number of different fields, with the ability to delegate more of the implementation as you scale up the team.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Hire and lead a high-performing growth team. Functions include: marketing/comms, BD & partnerships, DevRel, community, events.
- Work with the CEO to develop a comprehensive GTM strategy, including: product positioning, target audience & use case, roadmap, incentive plan, interop & integrations, developer onboarding strategy, etc.
- Drive awareness and adoption of Essential. Lead the growth team across its various functions with the goal of maximizing quality, sustainable awareness and adoption in line with the project’s overarching strategy and vision.
- Refine our brand strategy & identity (including leading a rebrand with an external agency). You will be the owner of our brand and how it is presented and perceived.
- Continually measure & monitor analytics across our online platforms and events. Use these data to inform future strategies.
- Manage the goal-setting process for all growth-related functions, and ensure the team are bought in and remain accountable to these goals.
- Develop and manage the budget for growth.
Skills & Experience
- Work Experience - 5+ years of experience in growth-related roles at tech companies/startups. Preferably, you’ll have some experience across a range of relevant roles, e.g. marketing, content creation, events, community, BD, partnerships.
- Blockchain Experience - Previous experience in the blockchain space - ideally you have recently successfully led the GTM for a web3 infra project (preferably an L2) and have a wide network of connections and professional relationships in the industry.
- Leadership Experience - Strong demonstrated leadership experience, including hiring & managing high-performing growth/marketing teams.
